The Grand Canyon Half Marathon starts at the Hermit Interchange just west of the Bright Angel Lodge. The course starts at an elevation just over 6800' and heads west following the Hermits Rest road. At mile one runners will approach 1st Trail View overlook at 6987', looking down into the Bright Angel Fault, home of the Bright Angel trail. Over the next 1.3 miles runners continue to climb to the high point on the course at an elevation of 7066' before descending west towards Pima Point. Pima Point overlook roughly serves as the half way point were runners will head back towards Grand Canyon Village and the finish line. The last 2.25 miles of the course are down hill with a turn onto Rowe Well Road and the finsh line. At the finish area shuttle vans will provide courtesy rides back to areas in Grand Canyon Village. All post race activities will be at the Marathon finish line at the National Geographic Visitor Center IMAX in Tusayan
